With my puppies, I find that what they do with their rear feet when they nurse determines how they will later move in the rear when going away. A puppy that consistently nurses with its back feet wide, will move correctly as an adult, while a puppy that nurses with those rear feet close, will move that same way as an adult. Has anyone else noticed this in his/her dogs? (I am talking miniatures here.)

Karen , I never think about and never hear about. But we can obserw puppies and try to see how they will look like adult dogs. It's very interesting.

Now, I cannot see angulation, but in my experience, at least two of the puppies in that photo have WONDERFUL rears (and one I don't care for....), and those two puppies should move beautifully, moving away, when they are older.

I hope you don't mind me using your photo in this way, but it is not often that a photo appears with such a good example of this in newborns. One can also judge tailset and topline, and length of neck when the puppies are lying on their tummies nursing.

I must say that both parents are wonderfull mouver.
We make this connection in cooperation with owner of father. We try to make some "inbred for mouving" And I hope we do this !!!
