Adding another Schnauzer to our family

Wanted to get your opinion... We are considering adding another schnuazer to our family. We currently have an 18 month old female. Would you recommend a female or male? And do you think this is a good time with our female being 18 months olds?

Are you happy with your dog's behavior, or does she still have things you need to work on with her? Don't bring in another dog until the first one is thoroughly trained to your satisfaction, as the second dog will pick up *everything* from the first.... good AND bad. Those first dogs can be a great aid in training the new dog.

Male/female is generally the best combination, but dogs of the same sex can also work well, as long as they are not at the same level of dominance. One dog should always be more dominant than the other in order to maintain a happy household.

If you can make sure to take care of two properly, it shouldn't matter whether you get a boy or girl as a 2nd dog. Might be easier with a girl , if you are not neutering the boy. And yes..it is a good time to get a 2nd one while the other one is young,,they can play together! Good luck either way! can't wait to find out what you get

Many miniature pinschers behave negatively with the same sex so I recommend you acquire a male. This is to prevent dog fights.
